TRB Lightweight Structures has recently installed a sophisticated ‘top of the range’ spray painting facility, operated by experienced and qualified paint technicians.

Housed in a purposely constructed building, the main paint and heated drying booth measures over 8m x 4m x 3m high and is situated adjacent to a large preparation area which includes equipment and services necessary to undertake all types of preparation and pre-painting procedures.

Types of Finish

Fully approved by both Trimite and Dupont, a comprehensive range of paint types are offered and include:-

• Water based
• Two pack acrylic and polyurethane finishes
• Lacquers
• Anti-graffiti
• Anti corrosive primers
• Zinc Phosphate pretreatment process
• Low Smoke Emission coating systems
• Aluminium and Copper Metal Spraying

Surfaces for painting

The above finishes can be applied to various surfaces including:-

• Aluminium and other light alloys
• Carbon and Glass Fibre – Epoxy/Polyester Composites
• Glass/Phenolic Composites
• High Pressure Laminates (Formica type products)
• Steel and ferrous substrates

Quality

To ensure the highest possible quality of work, all jobs have a unique ‘Job Pack’ which is tailored to the specific task and the customer’s individual requirements. We employ gloss level metering and paint film thickness measurement to ensure a consistent, high quality finish that meets our customer’s requirements. The entire process is controlled by the company’s ISO 9001:2008 and IRIS qualification and undertaken in-line with the paint provider’s specifications.
